Campus Development

The Board of Norfolk Southern Cross Ltd purchased a 5 hectare orchard in 2003 with the objective of establishing  the Grace Hospital Campus.

The Board’s onging vision is to establish a campus on which patients can:

• consult their specialist
• access medical imaging and other related services at the one location…..’a one stop shop’ for surgical services
• be admitted into Grace Hospital with the knowledge it has been optimally designed to provide specialist hospital based surgical facilities.

After extensive consultation Grace Hospital was eventually designed, constructed and opened in 2007.

This purpose built facility  was opened with 5 theatres, 50 inpatient beds,  By 2009 a sixth theatre was opened to cater for the increasing number of patients requiring surgery.

Bay Radiology, Monitech (the Anaesthetic Clinic) and Grace Orthopaedics also established consulting rooms on the campus in 2007.

By the beginning of 2010 further building had been undertaken to accommodate a brand new MRI and CT for Bay Radiology.

The hospital is always looking to improve facilities on campus and continually assesses the needs of the community and hospital users to ensure we are able to meet future demand.
