Your Child’s Surgery

At Grace Hospital we endeavour to make your child’s stay with us as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

A hospital visit prior to surgery can familiarise your child with the surroundings and put their minds at ease. Parents and carers are encouraged to stay with their child. Favourite toys are welcome too!

Children usually wear their own pyjamas to theatre and we encourage one parent to accompany the child as they undergo the anaesthetic and be with them again when they wake up.

We provide a portable DVD player with a small selection of DVD’s for children. This is accessed by asking the nurse to bring the machine to your room.
