Level 3 - What it means for Grace Hospital

Written by Janet Keys, General Manager on August 27th, 2021.      0 comments

We will be open for surgery on Wednesday 1st September

We will be performing urgent surgery only next week. Theatre lists will be carefully reviewed and only selected cases will proceed. As schools are not open under level 3, we may have difficulties in staffing the full range of services, so will be not operating at full capacity. We will be in touch with all patients booked for surgery to advise whether their procedure is going ahead or not.

No visitors are permitted during level 3

Patients must be left at the reception area on admission unless there are special individual requirements which must be made in advance by talking with one of our managers (Call 07 577 5270).  When patients are discharged, please park outside the main reception and a nurse will bring your friend/relative out to the car.

All patients will be asked screening questions

All patients will be questioned about their exposure to Covid-19 to minimise the risk to patients and staff. Patients must wear a mask when they are in close proximity to anyone else, i.e. within 2 metres.  All of our staff will be wearing PPE when it is likely that they will be within 2 metres of any person.

Please bring your mobile devices

We have free wifi available at the hospital, and we encourage you to communicate with your family often to make up for not having visitors.

We are just as hopeful as I’m sure you are, that the Covid community cases start reducing in New Zealand and we can return to our normal activities.

Hope to see you soon, take care

Janet Keys, General Manager
