Specialist in Interventional Pain Medicine

Grace Hospital is pleased to introduce Dr Saad Anis, who is a consultant in pain medicine and anaesthesia. He currently works at the Bay of Plenty DHB where he is the clinical director of the chronic pain service as well as a consultant anaesthetist.

He is very excited to be bringing a much needed interventional chronic pain service to Grace Hospital and is hoping to run a weekly clinic where he will be seeing both ACC and private patients.

Dr Anis trained in anaesthesia and pain medicine in the United Kingdom. His training was done at Barts and the London NHS trust with a fellowship in interventional pain medicine at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. Following his training he worked as a consultant in pain medicine and anaethesia in London for 18 months before deciding to head out to the beautiful Bay of Plenty for a better quality of life for his family.

His experience in the United Kingdom has given him expertise in a variety of procedures not currently available in the Bay of Plenty and which he hopes to bring here over the next year.
