Richard Keddell

Richard is a general Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training in all aspects of hip and knee complaints and a particular interest in hip and knee joint replacement surgery.

After completing his medical and orthopaedic training in New Zealand, he undertook further training in Joint replacement at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital in the United Kingdom, and Arthroscopic and Knee sports surgery in Melbourne, Australia. He returned to Tauranga in 1992 to begin specialist practice.

He has completed a term as Clinical Director of Orthopaedics at Tauranga Hospital and is a Past President of the New Zealand Knee Society and, more recently, the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association. He is currently Chairman of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Board of Surgical Training.

Beyond Orthopaedics, Richard has an interest in farming, assisting his wife, Wendy, in running a sport horse stud on the outskirts of Tauranga.
