Andre Westenberg

André is known for his work in uro-oncology, managing prostate, kidney and bladder cancer. He is well experienced in this field, having performed well over 1500 radical prostatectomy surgeries and over 200 cystectomy (removal of the bladder) procedures. He has a special interest in the treatment of both male and female urinary incontinence, and is a member of both the oncology and female urology Special Advisory Groups of the Urological Society of Australasia.

André studied medicine at Otago University, after having completed a degree in botany. He undertook fellowships in endourology and in female and reconstructive urology, at the Institute of Urology, University College Hospitals, London, following the award of his FRACS (Urology) in 2000.

André and his wife enjoy tramping expeditions with their four school-age children each of whom now has a 10,000 ft peak to their name. As well as his busy family life and medical practice, André also manages to indulge his interest in history and economics, as he studies for his Bachelor of Arts.
